The Threshold

A two part portrait session that documents the before & after of passing through a ‘threshold’ or major life change. This can include the big obvious events, such as pregnancy & birth, surgery, the death of a loved one, or more quiet internal experiences.

Mothers & Daughters

In celebration of the ones who made us, our similiarities & our differences. Mother & daughter relationships can be by blood, luck or choice. Open to any relationship that identifies with these roles.

Earth Body

Part photoshoot, part embodied love letter to the Earth. We will meet in a wild environment you feel kinship with, connect with the dreaming Earth through ritual & deep listening, make slow film photographs on old cameras of the miracle & story that is the body. YOUR body.

FAQ

  • Like good conversations, good photographs need time and the right conditions to unfold. The more moving pieces & parts there are, the more time ideas will need to come to fruition.

    Package 01 is ideal for portraits of 1-2 people and a few simple photographic scenes.

    Package 02 is a great choice families & larger groups and for folks looking for a wider variety of images.

    If you have an idea for a session needing longer than 1.5 hours, I can create a custom package for your vision.

  • What I love about the documentary-style of photography is that it honors life as it is, not a staged version of it. For documentary-style images, I typically want to do things that you enjoy alongside you – the morning ritual of coffee around the table, walking your favorite path around the neighborhood, family story time, etc. Life should feel like the center piece of the photoshoot, not the camera.

    But don’t worry, I will give light direction when needed and make sure that your hands don’t look awkward ;)

  • Ahh, my greatest love! I grew up photographing on film (thanks mom) and prefer the way I shoot with it. Because each roll of film has a limited number of exposures, I am forced to slow down & notice with my full attention, choosing each moment with intention. This process helps me create the images I am most proud of.

    Not to mention, the dreamy grain & color tones of film simply cannot be replicated in digital (trust me, I’ve tried).

  • For a portrait session, you can expect to receive your private digital gallery 4 weeks after our shoot. Given that I shoot film, editing naturally takes longer as I have to wait for a lab to develop the film rolls then scan each exposure myself.

    If it’s an exceptionally busy photo season for me & it will take me longer than that, I will be sure to let you know asap!

    If you don’t have that long to wait – for an additional fee, I will move your images to the top of my que and have them to you in a shorter amount of time.
